Quality Chain

We support each client in the chain using our years of professional competence, supported by our certifications in the field of quality (BRL K903, BRL K904 & ISO 9001) and safety (VCC**). We also have the necessary knowledge in the field of CE marking or conformity to European ATEX, PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) or Machinery Directive. If required we also take care for our clients for the Explosion Safety Document (ESD) with associated zoning.

BRL K904 and BRL K903 Kiwa recognition

With our Kiwa BRL K903 (REIT) and BRL-K904 recognition, we offer you a total solution.

The REIT regime, under which we are certified by Kiwa, provides:

  • The government proposed deregulation, including connection to the Dutch "activities degree" (BARIM / RARIM) and regulations "soil quality degree" (BBK / RBK)
  • Installation and maintenance of storage facilities in the (Petro) chemicals, fuels, for example, caustic, corrosive, oxidizing, toxic and environmentally harmful liquids.
  • Good engineering practice (Sound Engineering Practice) as listed in the European public guidelines
  • The BRL K903 will also create in the Soil Quality Decree, the PGS 28, PGS 30 and PGS 31. This means that for new construction or work on your existing tank installation, almost always a qualified installer according to the BRL is needed.

Laws and regulations

Recognition Arrangement Installers Tank Installations BRL K903

Recognition Arrangement Installers Tank Installations is known in the market as the REIT regime. With this recognition Kiwa (BRL K903), we can meet the current laws and regulations. Moreover, we show with this good home paternity and we are able to minimize fail- and maintenance costs. The BRL K903 regulates the construction and maintenance for almost all aboveground and underground tank installations that contain less than 150 m3 per tank for (environmentally hazardous) liquids.

Recognition Environmentally responsible rehabilitation of old tank installations BRL K904

The BRL K904 regulates the eventual rehabilitation of old or rejected under- and aboveground tank installations for (environmentally hazardous) liquids.

Activities Decree

Any company that provides activities that may threaten the soil or the environment, will have to be able to demonstrate measures that are taken to ensure the soil and the environment are protected and also the security in the broad sense can be stored. Although the requirements and perspectives may differ, this is actually the core of Dutch and European laws and regulations.

What does this mean for you?

Opposite the deregulation of the Dutch ministry and the European public guidelines, there are more responsibilities for the market. You remain solely responsible to demonstrate that products and materials, the construction- use- and rehabilitation phase of the installation , do meet to the Dutch and European requirements.

REIT Scheme opts for an integrated approach

In the latest REIT regime, the BRL K903 is all built in a modular system which processes all designed to be applied to the design, installation and delivery of tank systems for liquids and vapors are covered. Tailored to your situation one uses the modules that apply to you:

Main Areas

A. Installation and maintenance of underground storage tankinstallations for PGS class 1 - and 2 products;
B. Installation and maintenance of underground storage tankinstallations for PGS Class 3 - and 4 products;
C. Installation and maintenance of underground storage tankinstallations for caustic (corrosive), harmful, irritant, toxic substances (chemicals);
D. Installation and maintenance of aboveground tankinstallations for PGS Class 3 - and 4 products;
E. Installation and maintenance of aboveground tankinstallations for PGS Class 2- products;
F. Installation and maintenance of aboveground tankinstallations for caustic (corrosive), harmful, irritant, toxic substances (chemicals).
G. Installation and maintenance of abovenground installations for CNG products.

Subareas

The scheme provides for 16 additional areas for installation and maintenance for:

  1. The determination of soil resistivity and design of cathodic protection (Mg anode),
  2. Pipes, underground (semi) flexible plastic core
  3. Pipes, underground (semi) flexible metal core
  4. Leak detection systems for tank installations
  5. Electronic level measuring systems for tank installations
  6. Pipes, steel with welded joints
  7. Underground pressurepipes
  8. Aboveground pressurepipes
  9. Design of tank installations in the (petro)chemical industry
  10. Tank Installations in a mound (semi) underground outside
  11. The manufacture of filling stations spill trays
  12. Underground tanks of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP)
  13. Pipes, underground fiberglass-reinforced epoxy (GRE)
  14. Tank Installations in a pontoon
  15. (Re)classification of steel aboveground tank installations
  16. (Re)classification of plastic aboveground tank installations
